Packing

I'm sorry for the slow down in progress picture posts, but there hasn't been much progress in the past few days. We have started the packing process, so there is not much to show other than stacks of boxes in the apartment and house that need to be pack, moved, or unpacked. 9 days until the move! It's hard to believe!

It all still seems unreal! We bought a house. We are moving to that house in less than 2 weeks! We still need to paint the bathroom so the toilet and sink can be put in. And doing something to the guest room would probably be a good thing since it is the only room that hasn't seen any paint or cleaning yet. Of course, it is the staging area for the bathroom project, so we need the contractor to finish before we can really clean and paint it. Ahhhh!...Can you tell the stress level is rising a bit? We would like to finish painting the basement too, so we could at least start moving boxes into it. So much to do!

The cats are on to us. They had been oblivious to the impending move until Saturday, when I started packing up the living room. They are both acting a little funny and tweak out at weird times, tearing about the apartment at hyper speed.

Daisy has taken to hanging out in the boxes as if she hopes we will pack her along with our trinkets

And Lily has been crawling into the reusable shopping bags that we have been using to transport items ready to be immediately put away. I have almost squashed her twice. Once I thought the bag had linens in it and used my foot to scoot it over. An orange and white blur came flying out of the bag. The second time I went to kneel on a chair with a bag on it to get something off the shelf and the bag "meowed"at me.

Jeff thinks it's adorable. I just feel guilty because it seems the cats are worried we won't take them with us. We have planned a "field trip" to the house for the kitties later in the week. We did this with the apartment and hope it helps the cats adjust quickly to the new house. Once they realize they have the run of 3 stories (the litter boxes will now be in the basement, not the front entryway) and twice as many windows to look out of, they will be happy as can be. Maybe Lily will forgive us in a year or two....
